Ingredients
- Ground Beef (80/20)1 1/2 lbs
- Plain Breadcrumbs1/3 cup
- Egg1 large
- Worcestershire Sauce2 tbsp
- Onion Powder1 tsp
- Garlic Powder1 tsp
- Olive Oil2 tbsp
- White Mushrooms, sliced8 oz
- Yellow Onion, diced1 medium
- Garlic, minced2 cloves
- All-Purpose Flour2 tbsp
- Beef Broth2 cups
Method
- 01
In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 oval patties about 3/4-inch thick.
- 02
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties 3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside (they don't need to be cooked through yet).
- 03
In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté sliced mushrooms and diced onion until softened and golden, about 5 minutes.
- 04
Add garlic and cook 30 seconds. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables, stir 1 minute. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir, scraping up browned bits.
- 05
Return patties to the skillet. Spoon gravy over patties. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 15 minutes until patties are cooked through and gravy has thickened.
- 06
Season gravy to taste. Serve patties over mashed potatoes or egg noodles with gravy spooned on top.
