Ingredients

  • Wide Egg Noodles12 oz
  • Canned Albacore Tuna, drained2 5-oz cans
  • Butter3 tbsp
  • Yellow Onion, diced1/2 medium
  • Celery, diced2 stalks
  • All-Purpose Flour3 tbsp
  • Whole Milk2 cups
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded1 cup
  • Frozen Peas1 cup
  • Panko Breadcrumbs3/4 cup
  • Butter, melted (for topping)2 tbsp

Method

  1. 01

    Preheat oven to 375°F. Cook egg noodles in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain.

    In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onion and celery, cook until soft, about 4 minutes.

    Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook, stirring frequently, until thickened, about 4 minutes.

    Remove from heat. Stir in cheddar until melted. Fold in drained tuna, frozen peas, cooked noodles, salt, and pepper.

    Transfer to a greased 9x13 baking dish. Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.

    Bake uncovered for 25 minutes until bubbly and the topping is golden brown. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
