  • Red Bell Pepper, finely diced1
  • Carrots, finely diced2
  • Cremini Mushrooms, finely diced4 oz
  • Yellow Onion, diced1/2
  • Ketchup1/2 cup
  • Tomato Paste2 tbsp
  • Worcestershire Sauce1 tbsp
  • Brown Sugar1 tbsp
  • Yellow Mustard1 tsp
  • Hamburger Buns4
  • Vegetable Oil1 tbsp
  • Garlic Powder1/2 tsp

Method

  1. 01

Finely dice the bell pepper, carrots, and mushrooms. You want them small enough to melt into the sauce.

  2. 02

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking up with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess fat.

  3. 03

Add diced onion and all the finely diced vegetables. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.

  4. 04

Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 8-10 minutes until thick and saucy.

  5. 05

Spoon onto toasted hamburger buns and serve.
