- Thick-Cut White Bread8 slices
- Sliced Ham8 oz
- Gruyère Cheese6 oz
- Butter2 tbsp
- All-Purpose Flour2 tbsp
- Whole Milk1 cup
- Dijon Mustard2 tbsp
Method

Make béchamel: melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, cook 1 minute. Gradually add milk, whisking until thick and smooth. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.

Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each bread slice. Layer ham and Gruyère cheese on 4 slices, then top with remaining slices.
